2017 Subaru WRX & WRX/STI $31,705 – $47,430
The Subaru WRX and WRX STi were all-new last year and remain largely unchanged for 2016. The WRX and WRX STi are only available as four-door sedans, as the five-door was dropped in 2015.
Both cars feature high-output, turbocharged four-cylinder Boxer engines mated to a six-speed manual transmission, or an optional CVT automatic. Power is delivered to the ground by Subaru’s well-sorted symmetrical full-time all-wheel-drive system.
These potent cars have been tuned to optimize performance and efficiency, while new technologies produce greater response, sharper handling and unmatched levels of control. The Subaru WRX and WRX STi represent two of the biggest performance bargains available; adding all-weather traction to the mix will be a definite draw for Canadian drivers.
For 2016, base model WRX and WRX STIs receive a totally new and upgraded 6.2-inch infotainment system, with support for Aha radio, SiriusXM and Bluetooth streaming, while the Sport Package trim on both cars gets a new rear/side vehicle detection system. The Sport-tech Package trim for both cars gets an upgraded infotainment system too, with a bigger 7-inch touchscreen setup in place.
